Event Description

If you can snap a photo, you can 3D-print. Capture, design, print! Once a high-end industrial technology, 3D printing now meets the needs of ordinary people. An ecosystem of user friendly tools and on-line market places enables sharing and a mass customization revolution.
New materials allow 3D printers to use plastics, rubber, metal, and even chocolate to create items that are unique, practical, entertaining, and whimsical. 3D printers are everywhere, printing car bodies, human implants, cookies, shoes, fashion items, violins, kids’ toys, and much more.
With a current market size of $1.3 billion, the 3D printing industry is set to explode to $3.1 billion by 2016, according to industry consulting firm, Wohlers Associates.
Just as the PC, Internet and traditional printers changed our everyday lives, so too will 3D Printers. What are the opportunities for entrepreneurs to add value to the 3D printing ecosystem as printers, supplies, and services become accessible to everyone?
